‘Round and Around
the world did he roam.
Now all he wishes for
is a place to call home.

He had many adventures,
he lived a full life.
He went through a great deal of
sickness and strife.

All the troubles, the hardships,
the bitter battles he fought in,
they’re all in the past now,
decayed and forgotten.

He had only one wish,
a very simple one too.
Just a home he could call his,
a home soft, warm, and new.

A place he could rest in
and comfortably dream,
without visions of darkness
and other such things.

For whenever he even
just shut his old eyes,
he’d hear the terrible
shouts and old cries.

The ghouls and the monsters
and the demons and beasts,
they all haunted his mind
with no chance of peace.

He fought and he struggled
to keep the creatures away,
it seemed as though nothing
could keep them at bay.

It seems fate has decided
that it would be best
to deny the old man
of his peaceful rest.
